Mission
Genomii.ai - on a mission to extend users healthspan by providing personalised wellness solutions backed by science and AI. By combining vital data, such as DNA, geospatial data, vitals and lifestyle choices, they offer tailored insights through Genomii’s AI chat.
My Contributions
The redesigned app features a clean, clutter-free interface, making it easier for users to navigate and access essential features.
The improved onboarding process resulted in a 35% increase in new user adoption rates.
The addition of personalization and customization options enhanced user engagement, leading to a 25% increase in user retention rates.
Impact
Both the initial launch and further iterations produced great results:
New user acquisition
Avg. Frequency of use
Feature usage rate
Complexity of Aging Process
The aging process is influenced by various factors including genetics, lifestyle choices, environmental factors, and skincare habits, making it challenging for individuals to understand and address their specific skin concerns.
Lack of Effective Solutions
Despite the availability of numerous skincare products and treatments, many consumers struggle to find solutions that effectively target their individual skin issues and deliver noticeable results.
Personalization Needs
Personalized skincare regimens tailored to individual skin concerns, preferences, and lifestyles have the potential to be more effective in addressing aging-related issues.
Vision
Bringing a fresh perspective to the speed of aging, combining scientific rejuvenation with gamification, promising a fun, interactive journey to a glowier you.
The Process - Step 2
Understand the Users
My research first centered around participants' attitudes towards anti-aging products, engagement with DNA-related wellness and general technology usage in order to define the focusing direction. More than 150 user survey responses would help quantify what customers are looking for, and what they’re hoping to resolve. And lastly, one-on-one interviews would help me understand users’ journeys and specific issues the app would need to address.
1 /
Users are motivated to track their skin condition primarily for appearance reasons, but they are lack of persistence to track continuously.
2 /
Users value features that allow them to track changes in their skin over time, such as photo comparison tools that enable side-by-side analysis of skin condition.
3 /
Users appreciate personalized insights and recommendations based on their tracked data, such as skincare tips or product suggestions tailored to their specific skin concerns.
4 /
Connecting with others who share similar skin concerns or goals gives users more insights and encouragement throughout the beauty journey.
Persona
The creation of personas proved instrumental in shedding light on these differences, serving as valuable benchmarks as functionalities were being developed.
As the research and design process progressed, my attention primarily centered on two personas. These personas were chosen due to their significant focus on two key features: tech-savvy, enjoys using mobile apps to simplify daily routines; and, health-conscious, prioritizes self-care practices that promote overall well-being.
Redefine
When it comes to a question about “tech products”, we found that women or general people basically don’t care about the technology itself.

Genomii.ai App Flowchart
Iterate
Based on insights gathered from surveys and interviews, the site map illustrates the organizational structure of the three primary task streams emphasized in the high-fidelity prototype: 1. AI camera selfie, 2. Daily Quests & reward system, and 3. Health data & Skin Diary. This site map framework, combined with the user feedback gathered, will inform future design decisions.
Genomii.ai App Flowchart
Iterate
Multiple iterations of quick sketching on paper highlighted the difficulty of maintaining essential tasks in a straightforward manner and at a uniform level. This exercise proved crucial in identifying flurent user flow.
User Journey Flow Hand Sketches
Iterate
Low-fidelity prototype testing allowed me to better understand how users expected to complete the tasks I was focusing on. By studying their touch and swipe gestures — and more importantly, having a dialogue with them about what they expected and when — I knew which adjustments needed to be made to lay the foundation for a more fully realized high fidelity prototype.

Usability Testing
To ensure Genomii.ai delivers an exceptional user experience, we conducted comprehensive usability testing sessions involving a diverse group of participants. Our approach encompassed both qualitative and quantitative methodologies to gather in-depth insights into user interactions with the platform.
Key Findings
1 / Task Completion Rate
Users are motivated to track their skin condition primarily for appearance reasons, but they are lack of persistence to track continuously.
2 / Average Time on Task
The mean time to complete tasks was 3.5 minutes, aligning with industry standards for similar applications.
3 / Error Rate
A minimal error rate of 5% was observed, primarily related to initial unfamiliarity with advanced features like the digital twin. This suggests a need for enhanced onboarding tutorials.
4 / User Satisfaction
Participants rated their satisfaction at an average of 4.7 out of 5, highlighting appreciation for personalized insights and the seamless integration of various health data sources.
